According to information in the museum, this costume was worn by Amelia Joy Adams in April 1929, when she was aged 12 and appearing at the Coliseum Theatre in a production for the Miss Betty Brooks dance school. The routine she appeared in was called 'Sea Scene'.

The costume has a pink cotton top with a silver-green lamé tail.

I love this mermaid costume as it is so pretty.
