I attended Rockington Rd Girls' School 1944 - 1947. Absolutely loved it there.

Sorry, Rhiannon Hook, but your school is not in this picture. St Andrew's is in Grafton Street. This is the former Rockingham Road School for Girls in Rockingham Road (now a business centre).

St. Andrew's in Grafton St. used to be the Central School in the 50s through 60s. This catered for junior school pupils who didn't quite scrape through the 11 plus to Grammar (or High) school. I am not sure if it was a boys only school or mixed.Did any of you girls attend the Central School?

The school on the right is indeed the old Rockingham Road Girls Secondary School. My mother worked there as the school secretary from about 1949. Her office was situated in the tower. Anybody remember her?
