This building is in Green Lane. I believe it was a leather dressers until about 1984ish. Then it was taken over by Scan Belts for about 3 years. I was a supervisor there for two years. The owner was Steve Keys, a really good caring boss. Fashion belts were made for Marks and Spencer, Dorothy Perkins and Next etc. The volume of orders was so great that we introduced a night shift to keep up with orders. The factory later moved to an empty shoe factory in Avondale Road, but due to the swift change of fashion requirements it closed soon after.
